Pastors Blog June 2016
Hi Readers
I type this getting ready for May Camp 2016. I’m really excited as have spent time at Morton Primary School this week with assemblies and being in class. Many of the great kids there are coming to Low Farm caravan site in Folkingham, as are the kids from YYC. We are having a Milk Shake night tonight. I am not sure what this involves, but 2 girls stopped me outside the Manse this morning and were jumping up and down!
The last few weeks have been enjoyably busy. We are getting lots of quotes and ideas for redecorating our church. This is being funded primarily though our 4 x Gift Days, and for all of you committed to this I am very grateful.
14 of our Ladies spent last weekend at Willesley Castle in Cromford, Derbyshire. Mrs McManus drove a 17 seater mini bus around the twisty hills without squashing anything which is a mini miracle!
Derek Skinner led our Men’s ‘Shoulder 2 Shoulder’ at the Wild Heart café and is preaching at both churches Sunday 5th. Get there if you can!
We are half way through our sermon series on Prayer. We know that Jesus prayed…lots…and if He needed to, so do we! We know that a prayer is NEVER wasted. Prayer is free. Peaceful. Powerful. If you want to hear more, why not join us at Morton New Day 10.30am, or Dyke 6.30pm, every Sunday.
Be richly blessed….Pastor Andy.

Weekly news below…
Dear CAM International prayer partners,
Here are the prayer items for Newslink, 29 April 2016.
Sorry this week’s Newslink is late. It was not possible to send it from Nyangombe on Tuesday.
CONGO
Carol Seymour and Ginny Perkins have had a fruitful week or so of ministry, with a good response at Kasapa prison, but serious problems with food supplies. Pray for them as they continue to help with the prison ministry. Yesterday they did recordings for TV/Radio, with a full team and good testimonies continue to come in showing how God uses these programmes. Praise God for this ministry! Pray for assemblies at the Lighthouse primary school on Saturday. Pray for a visit to a Bike Evangelism church on Sunday – put off from last week. There has been an increase in armed robbery in the area. Pray for security at the Centre.
Lloyd Rowlands spoke last Sunday at the big Kamalondo church in Lubumbashi, with up to 3,000 in the congregation. God blessed his ministry and he now has an open door to return there at any time. Praise God! Thank you to all who prayed for this opening.People are beginning to harvest their crops at Tumbwe. Pray for them to find ways to get the crops into the city without a huge cost.
Sandy Rowlands was ministering in song at the Living Waters church on Sunday. Pray for this ministry to continue and develop. Pray for Sandy’s teaching programme – four mornings a week at the Lighthouse School and also helping the discipleship group at the Lighthouse.
ZAMBIA
Andrew & Lyn Ramsey have just spent a week at Nyangombe, ministering at the Ladies’ Conference for five full days (22-26 April) – two sessions a day each. There were about 120 ladies attending, full of enthusiasm to learn from the Bible. (The Conference was ten days, with 40 sessions of teaching altogether, and the ladies never seemed to tire.) Thank God for this opportunity for the Ramseys. The Conference finishes today. Pray that the ladies will be blessed and encouraged as they go home and will apply what they have learned.
Yesterday (Thursday) the Ramseys returned to Ndola (11-hr drive). Pray for them both as they minister Sat afternoon at the Elim Youth Conference at the Itawa church, and for Andrew speaking at Pastor Ziso’s church Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday morning.
Gordon & Sybil McKillop provided generous hospitality for the Ramseys as well as continuing with their normal routines. They ask us to pray (1) for friends and children at a nearby children’s home, that the sickness bug affecting them all will end; (2) for a Nyangombe teacher going out to teach in 7 village churches in 7 days – for safe travel and God’s anointing; (3) for the next Bible School starting in early May.
ETHIOPIA
Pray for the Bible teaching programmes being recorded for National TV in the recording studio that has been set up in Addis Ababa (one of CAM’s Centenary projects), and for Mamusha the main teacher. Pray for the teaching to have a great impact.
MOZAMBIQUE
Wanderley & Rosaria da Silva should have arrived back in Chimoio on Wednesday. During their 3-month break in Brazil, they were able to complete their medical and dental checks and treatments. Everything was in order, although Wanderley will need annual check-ups for his eyes, which need regular eye drops. Praise God. Pray that they will continue in good health. Pray for them as they resume their different ministries. Pray for peace in Mozambique.
Thank you for praying. Your prayers are greatly appreciated by all our CAM personnel.

Pastors Blog for May :-)
Hello Readers.
We enjoyed a busy April following an inspiring Easter service. Our very successful Alpha course has come to an end. The group want to carry on, so we have formed a Home Group meeting at the Manse Tuesdays 7.30pm. One of the guys, Dave, asked half way through the course if he could be baptised. What great news! Then Steve from the previous course asked, so with my help both did each other on April 10th to a packed church. Praise God. Please look at the photos at ‘Morton newday.co.uk’.
Kay led a very well attended Fashion show this month to raise funds for ‘Hope for Justice’. I was the only male model, and there are NO photos of this I am glad to say!
The church currently has a large scaffolding tower erected within the chapel. The electricians are booked to change the dated fluorescent tubes with adjustable wall uplighters. This made it difficult at TOTS this Tuesday where we had around 20 kids running and playing! What a great problem to have. Again, praise God.
On 7th May, 7.30pm, we have a cinema night at church showing Amazing Grace. On May 15th from 2.30pm we are preaching on the Well Head at Bourne as is Pentecost Praise. There will be puppet shows, face painting, 300 free burgers, 4 preachers and much more. Please bring a folding chair and your friends.
On May 30th we take over Low Farm Caravan Park in Folkingham for 5 days. Yes…it is May Camp! Again, tell your friends and if you don’t want to camp drop in as a Day Visitor for only £2. There will be lots to do, including outdoor family games, kids craft, daily video Bible study featuring Jeff Lucas, and live entertainment t every evening upstairs in the barn.
Before I became a Christian, I thought church was only on a Sunday morning. And moreover, was boring. How little I knew. (In every way, actually!) Church is not a building, it is an ‘assembly’, a group united. We at Morton New Day like to feel we are lively and welcoming. If you can, come and meet us at any of our daily events, or maybe drop in on a Sunday at 10.30am. You will be pleasantly surprised!
Be blessed, Pastor Andy
